On Purity
“the condition or quality of being pure; freedom from anything that debases or contaminates or pollutes; freedom from guilt or evil; physical chastity, virginity.”
Webster’s Dictionary
So what does it mean to be pure? Does it mean I have to walk around in a long turtle-neck robe and put on a tudong? Must the guys walk around blind-folded so as not to be tempted? Am I pure if I don’t club don’t smoke don’t drink don’t watch porn? Wait a minute, who said that clubbing and drinking are wrong?
You may have asked yourself, what is it that separates us Christians from the non-believers? Sure we have salvation in Christ, but often the first thing that marks us as Christians to others is how we live. Have you ever know a person for some time, yet only much later (to some surprise) discover he is also a Christian? Or has anyone ever been shocked to find out that you‘re a Christian?
“Chastity is the most unpopular of the Christian virtues.”
— C. S. Lewis
Apart from chastity, will be exploring related topics such as abstinence, masturbation, pornography, biblical dating vs worldly dating, abortion, divorce, lust vs love etc etc… Do you struggle with any of the abovementioned? The topics listed were not just taken off books or websites. They are real and they are very near.
Let us remove the walls together.
The journey doesn’t start on December 21. It starts NOW.
Start praying, start searching.
Our hope for all Speedlighters is to be changed, Inside Out.
